《CENTRESTAGE》X LAWSGROUP「Hong Kong in Fashion Fiesta @ D2 Place」

Organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the 4-days international fashion trade show《CENTRESTAGE》will kick start by 6 September. Setting as a fashion promotion and launch platform in the region, 《CETNRESTAGE》’s citywide campaign “Hong Kong in Fashion” is associated with a series of curated events, installations and exclusive offers. Jointed by HKTDC & Lawsgroup, the kick-start program “Hong Kong in Fashion Fiesta @ D2 Place” will be held at D2 Place in Lai Chi Kok, featuring fashion exhibition and presentation by 4 local design institutes to support local fashion industry.

Joint-Schools Present Original Design by Local New Fashion Force

To allow public getting involved with fashion, citywide campaign “Hong Kong in Fashion” organized by HKTDC will be start in mid August. The first and foremost event “Hong Kong in Fashion Fiesta @ D2 Place”, collaborated by HKTDC, Lawsgroup and Fashion Farm Foundation (FFF), will take place throughout September. Meanwhile, an opening cocktail party “Fashion Night Out” will be held on 1 September, 6 p.m. at “The Garage” in D2 Place TWO to gather local fashion advocates & designers and present more than 40 pieces of student works from Caritas Bianchi College of Careers (CBCC), HKU School of Professional and Continuing Education (HKU SPACE) and Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Participating guests include Mr. Johnny Wan (Director, HKTDC), Ms. May Leung (COO, Lawsgroup), Ms. Edith Law (Chairlady, FFF), Mr. Alan Cheung (Chairman, FHKI Group 31 (Design)), Mr. Robert Meeder (Associate Chair, Building Arts, Fashion and Language Studio, SCAD), Mr. Gary Lam (Head, Department of Design, CBCC), Dr. Alvina Lee (Lecturer, HKU SPACE Po Leung Kuk Stanley Ho Community College) and Mr. Eric Hung (known as “Chiu B”).

Fashion Exhibition Showcasing over 40 Designer Pieces

D2 Place strives to promote local fashion culture and creative industry development by providing a unique networking and exchange platform for local artists & designers. To support local young designers, the one-month event “Hong Kong in Fashion Fiesta @ D2 Place” is going to showcase more than 40 fashion designer pieces from the students of Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI), CBCC, HKU SPACE and SCAD from 2 – 30 September in The Garage at D2 Place TWO.

Inspired by the city, nature, music, history etc, the student collections unveiled the creativity and fashion senses of our up-and-coming designers, in their understanding of texture, cutting, color and ratio etc., and made each fashion piece into the-one-and-only.
