Rock Salt Japanese Restaurant

Located at Causeway Bay’s Lee Theatre Plaza, a highend shopping complex in the heart of the famed shopping district, Rock Salt is a contemporary Japanese restaurant offering a wide range of Japanese cuisine items including sashimi and sushi, Kamameshi (steamed rice with meats), deep fried tempura, salads and appetisers plus its signature rock-salt grilled seafood. The spacious restaurant also offers a fne collection of Japanese sakes and wines.

The dishes we tried were uniformly fresh and tasty and quite reasonably priced, with several that are innovatively prepared. We started with Seasonal Sashimi Plate (388), Prime Fatty Tuna ($180), Botan Shrimp ($148) before embarking on its signature rock-salt grilled items which are prepared at the table: The Grilled in Sauce Plate ($580)
include Live Japanese Scallops, King Prawn, Oysters, Clams, Grilled Carb Plate and Snow Crab with Baguette. Fried Foie Gras & Beef Tenderloin Rice in Kamameshi ($128) is next, before we round out our meal with Orange Sorbet ($45) and Tea. A fne bottle of Dassai 39 Jumai Dacinjo sake ($550 for 720 ml) accompanied our delicious meal. To enjoy a good quality Japanese meal in a comfortable setting, Rock Salt is a worthy consideration indeed.
