Former 3 Michelin Stars Chef Bruno Ménard to Join JUNON Culinary Team as Culinary Director

JUNON is a romantic establishment that celebrates and preserves Hong Kong’s past golden era of music and cuisine. Sharing the same goal of merging dining with entertainment, JUNON will welcome to its team a Culinary Director with 35 years of experience in the industry, Former 3 Michelin Stars Chef Bruno Ménard.


It is the harmonious union of music and food that enticed Chef Bruno to join the team at JUNON – his first foray into the Hong Kong culinary scene. Inspired and impressed by the unique concept of combining live musical performances with fine-dining cuisine, Chef Bruno will craft seasonal menus for JUNON and source premium quality, fresh ingredients from Hong Kong and around the world. His dishes can be described as neoclassic, with a French-styled base that is constantly brought to the next level by new cooking techniques and ingredients. With a wealth of experience cooking in Asia, Chef Bruno possesses a deep understanding of Asian flavours and will contribute vastly to JUNON by infusing hints of these intricate flavours into the restaurant’s European-styled dishes. A personable and vivacious character, Chef Bruno enjoys hearing the tales of guests at his restaurants, frequently greeting patrons and stopping for a chat.

“I believe that when a guest enters a restaurant, they should embark on a beautiful and romantic journey filled with exquisite cuisine and memorable entertainment. For me, food is purely for enjoyment and the restaurant’s ambiance plays a big role in this enjoyment process, so what better way to fully emerge in the experience than with melodious music that heightens the atmosphere? Each of my dishes tells a story and I hope that those who get the chance to enjoy them will build unforgettable memories with their loved ones.”


Having discovered his love for cooking at a young age, Chef Bruno was heavily influenced by his family who worked in the food and beverage industry for more than 100 years. In particular, his father, a famous chocolatier in France, nurtured and helped him hone his passion and talent for cooking over the years. As one of the youngest chefs in France to gain the score of 17/20, Chef Bruno obtained three “toques” in the Gault-Millau Guide by the age of 28. Prior to joining the JUNON culinary team, Chef Bruno worked at The Dining Room at Ritz Carlton Buckhead in Atlanta, Georgia, an establishment that was one of 14 restaurants in North America to receive 5 stars by the Mobil Travel Guide and 5 diamonds by the American Automobile Association. It was later at L’Osier in Tokyo, one of nine restaurants in Tokyo awarded with the coveted 3 stars recognition, that Chef Bruno earned his distinction as a former 3-Michelin Stars Chef. L’Osier was awarded with this prestigious award straight after the first edition of the Michelin Guide Tokyo was launched. Since his time at L’Osier, Chef Bruno launched his own culinary consulting firm, Bruno Ménard Pte. Ltd, and out of the base country of Singapore, he has provided expert consultation to renowned restaurants across Asia. A TV personality, Chef Bruno is one of the three judges on the hit show, MasterChef Asia. He also created the Bocuse d’Or Academy Singapore and was nominated as the President of Bocuse d’Or Asia Pacific.


Giving a nod to the city’s portrayal in the classic blockbuster movie, “The World of Suzie Wong,” JUNON has a home within the bustling Wan Chai district. Housing two distinct yet beautifully intertwined sections, JUNON is comprised of BISTRO JUNON and LA SCÈNE DE JUNON. The venue successfully exudes an aura of worldly exotic European grandeur with its elaborate drapery, antique furniture and ornate fixtures. Under a custom stained-glass ceiling featuring Goddess Juno in a red dress and magnificent chandelier, guests at LA SCÈNE DE JUNON are indulged with an immersive experience filled with melodious tunes and live house cabarets by local and international musical maestros.

Recalling the mood of the past century, JUNON Restaurant is located on Queen's Road East in Wan Chai. The venue is divided into two main parts with BISTRO JUNON creating a casual ambience, as well as the elegant, glamourous LA SCÈNE DE JUNON where diners can enjoy more formal unforgettable dining pleasure amidst the backdrop of live music performance in classic European style. Diners can also enhance their enjoyment at a bar, a patisserie or a quaint antique shop inside the Restaurant.
