Morokok

The recently opened Morokok, an 8000 square feet restaurant on the 8th floor of the busy commercial complex of Gala Place in Mong Kok, serves fusion Thai food with a Moroccan twist. The twist being that its décor of this large restaurant, which includes a generous outdoor terrace, is all decked out in Mocaccan theme, featuring Moorish decorative elements and finishing. The food, though, is all Asian.
The dishes sampled include a Assorted Thai Appetiser Platter ($128), which include shrimp cake, spring roll, lemongrass chicken wings, chicken balls and Thai sour sausages; Omelette Pad Thai with Grilled Tiger Prawn ($148) that is quite tasty; Red Curry Prawns & Grilled Pineapple Pizza ($178), which is certainly a creatively concocted dish; Risotto with Deep-fried Soft Shell Crab in Thai Green Curry ($168), another interesting dish that we haven't tried before; and Butterfly Pea & Pandan Sticky Rice with Mango ($78).
Given its location in Mong Kok where late night crowds are par for the course, Morokok aims to be a gathering place for customers at all hours. It serves a collection of local craft beers – we tried the Heroes Nimble Macho ($88/pint). It also offers a collection of cocktails and mocktails including the Morokok Donut ($108) which is Vodka, vanilla and milk. For entertainment, there is a dart board area and it also offers Shisha ($250 and above) with over 100 flavours available.
Morokok also offers an afternoon tea set from 3 to 6 pm with prices ranging from $58 to $88.
Whether you want to enjoy tasty Thai food after a long day of shopping or just looking for fun and drinks at night, Morokok offers an excellent choice.
