Ming Court, the Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant located in Cordis Hong Kong, in collaboration with Green Monday, a fast-growing social venture group, has unveiled a new vegetarian menu introducing delicious yet healthy dishes combining traditional Chinese vegetarian dishes with newly developed proxy-meat products to the general dining public.

Ming Court’s vegetarian menu is not just for vegetarians and vegans, but rather, anyone who wants to enjoy a tasty and healthy meal. With the advent of Beyond Burger and others, great strides are being made in creating yummy vegetarian food that mimicks the tastes of meat. One such endeavour is Big Monday’s Onmipork, which is catching the Asian market by storm as pork is a major food source in Asia.

Ming Court is offering a Vegetarian Set Menu($788 per person). The menu starts with Gardein Chicken, Celery, Enoki Mushroom, Cordyceps Flower, Chilledand an excellent soup – Matsutaki Mushroom, Bamboo Pith, Chinese Cabbage, Doubled Boiled. Next is Beyond Burger, Basil, Fresh Peppercorn, Onion. Bell Pepper, Wok Fried, followed bySweet and sour Omnipork, Pineapple, Stir-Fried. While some may judge these near-meat dishes by how closely they resemble the actual meats, we think they taste good as they are, without needing to be compared. Other dishes included in the menu are Baby Spinach, Elm Fungus, Yellow Fugus, Braised and Fried Rice, Beyond Sausage, Salted Lemon, Black Oliveand, for dessert, Natural Resin, Egg White, Almond Cream.

Ming Court also offers ala carte chef recommendations that include the popular Shanghainese Omnipork Dumpling, Steamed($68/3 pieces) – it was sold out, and Omnipork Pork Bun, Preserved Vegetable, Steamed ($68/3 pieces).
