REIGN the Abalone House

Reign the Abalone House, a high-end retail shop cum restaurant, opened recently at K11 Musea, Hong Kong’s latest luxury shopping mall, in Tsim Sha Tsui. The outlet sells fresh-farmed abalone from South Africa and premium Russian caviar. In addition, Reign serves a special light meal menu designed by Jean-Marc Soldati, a Swiss Michelin-star chef, that

includes abalone, caviar, lobster and bird’s nest.

Reign’s signature abalone is caught in the waters of Walker Bay in South Africa and slow-cooked to retain collagen. It is then vacuum-packed and shipped by air to Hong Kong, ready to eat. The Russian caviar comes from Russian sturgeon raised in Astrakhan on the Caspian Sea. Reign also offers a variety of gelato and sorbetto topped with rich bird’s nest.

Dishes we sampled included Reign Abalone Dark Rye Mille-Feuille with White Truffle Cream ($148) which is small slices of rye bread with a layer of diced slow-cooked abalone garnished with thick grilled egg in Italian white truffle cream, and Reign Abalone and Lobster Mille-Feuille ($148), which is diced abalone and lobster in honey mustard sauce, as first courses.

The second course included Slow-cooked South African Abalone Served with Angel Hair Pasta ($198) and Slow-cooked Reign Lobster Collagen with Lobster ($250). In both cases generous portions allowed us to appreciate the full flavour of the tender meat.

For desserts, we tried Gelato with Bird’s Nest & Collagen ($98) and Sorbetto with Bird’s Nest & Collagen ($98). Special drinks we chose included Aranciata Rossa Sparkling Fruit Juice with Gum Tragacanth ($68) and Melograno E Arancia Sparkling Fruit Juice with Gum

Tragacanth ($68), both drinks infused with bird’s nest collagen.

Reign is the perfect place to stop by for a relaxing and healthy light meal as you take a break from your shopping. Don’t forget to purchase some abalone and caviar while you are there.
