La Rotisserie

Since the opening of its first outlet in Sheung Wan, La Rotisserie, a French bistro specialising in authentic rotisserie grilled chicken, has become a popular casual dining spot for all kinds of Hongkongers. Its success has led to opening in other locations on Hong Kong island, including the recently opened sixth branch in busy Causeway Bay, at Lee Garden One.

Simply put, La Rotisserie serves traditional rotisserie: whole chicken grilled on a rotating spit; the repeating uneven heat helps deliver a chicken whose skin is crispy, yet with meat that remains tender and juicy. The imported French chicken is coated in a special sauce featuring over 20 ingredients.

Besides the chicken, La Rotisserie also serves roast duck breast, sandwiches, quiche, an array of healthy salads and a range of desserts. Catering to its location, the Causeway Bay outlet is the first to also serve breakfast items, such as Croissant ($15), Chocolate Danish ($17) and Ham & Cheese Croissant ($28), plus fresh brewed coffee, of course.

For our meal, we tried the French Roast Chicken ($178/whole, $98/half and $58/quarter) which is yummy, and as advertised. French Duck Breast ($72) is also good – juicy and tender. La Rotisserie serves a large collection of hot side dishes and salads. They come either in a large dish that can serve 8 to 10 people or in smaller side dishes of various portions.

The ones we tried included Steamed Vegetables, Ratatouille, Sauteed Quinoa, French Bean Salad, Quinoa & Avocado Salad, and Cucumber & Tomato Salad.

La Rotisserie also serve a tasty Roast Chicken Sandwich ($62) and Mini Baguette ($12), baked daily. We should note that the restaurant prides itself on using almost exclusively French ingredients directly supplied from France.

La Rotisserie’s Causeway Bay venue is also available for private events and gatherings, in which your guests can take over the entire space for either three hours upon a minimum spending of $4,000 or $1,000 an hour (no spending minimum).

Whether you want a take-out, a delivery or a quick appetising meal of freshly roasted or healthy items La Rotisserie is an excellent choice for food on the go. Do give it a try
