café bar on 8

Perched serenely in Hong Kong Island’s famed Mid-levels is café bar on 8, a friendly gathering place inside Two MacDonnell Road, a high-end hotel and long-stay serviced apartments for guests. Overlooking the Hong Kong Botanical Garden and the stunning view of the city’s skyline, café bar on 8, which was recently renovated, is ideal for locals and visitors alike looking for a quick breakfast, a filling lunch, afternoon tea or an evening of casual dining. Some of the restaurant’s favourite dishes include Hainanese Chicken, Old English Fish and Chips, and Margherita Pizza. There is a bar and a 120-inch TV that guests can watch their favourite sport events and enjoy a nice evening cocktail in a relaxed setting.

The lunch buffet which we sampled is particularly noteworthy. For a lunch buffet, the spread is quite generous with choices of salad, cold cuts, hot food from different regional cuisines including made-to-order chicken wing and noodles, plus a generous selection of desserts. For the price of $198, $108 for children, it represents good value for money and a welcome respite from the frenetic lunch scenes in the city below.

café bar on 8 is offering a winter seasonal promotional discount of 20% off the buffet and a la carte menu; you may also take advantage of its happy hour free-flow package from Monday to Friday at $158. For details please visit www.twomr.com
