Asian Grand Prix International Ballet Competition 2015

Asian Grand Prix International Ballet Competition (AGP) has kicked off on 10 Aug. This five-day event is an international platform created to inspire and recognize the artistic excellence of passionate and dedicated ballet dancers. This year in particular, winners of the AGP will have a chance to perform on the same stage with renowned International Ballet stars.

AGP was established in 2011 as an annual competition to promote ballet in Hong Kong and create an International platform with dance students and professional dancers ages 7 or above from around the world. Scholarships from prominent international ballet schools were awarded to dancers who show unusual potential in ballet.

Over the course of the 5-day ballet competition, participants will dance their solo or pas de deux on stage to show their techniques and excellence, and there will be a series of preliminary and final judging by juries from around the globe. During the competition rounds, audience will be available to spectate the exciting process. The final competition will take place on August 14, with the final awards ceremony in the evening to announce all the winners.

To celebrate the five-year milestone, AGP has invited ballet stars globally to perform at the Gala Performance held on Saturday, 15 August 2015. Winners of the AGP Ballet Competition will have a chance to perform on the same stage with the globally renowned stars. Highlighted ballet stars include Principal Dancers from the Royal Ballet, UK – Mara Galeazzi and Federico Bonelli; Principal Dancers from the Kremlin Ballet Theatre, Russia – Joy Womack (also AGP 2013 Grand Prix Award winner), Mikhail Martynyuk; dancers from the Hong Kong Ballet, Ballet Manila and AGP 2012 Grand Prix Award Winner, Tirion Law Lok Huen.
