HONG KONG WELCOMES ICONIC MUSICAL FROM WEST END & BROADWAY

Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, the party-fun favourite from the West End and Broadway, is making its long-awaited debut in Hong Kong from September 29 to October 22.

Arguably the most popular musical to come out of Australia, the screen-to-stage show, which is adapted from the 1994 film The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, has been on a global odyssey of its own. The musical began production in Australia, then made its way to London’s West End, and Broadway before going on to entertain audiences from Europe to Asia, from South and North America to Africa.

One of the few musicals to garner both Oscar and Tony awards – for costume design, the show resonates with audiences with its hilarious yet touching story of self-discovery by three artists travelling through the outback of Australia on a battered bus nicknamed Priscilla, dressed in spectacularly glitzy costumes, and performing a string of pop classics.

The 10-metre long, six-ton custom-made bus is clearly the centrepiece of the stage, coming to life amidst glittering costumes – of which more than 500 are featured, along with 200 hairpieces, and over 20 pop hits that have audiences dancing in the aisles.
