This month, our well-being odyssey took us to the Health Club and Spa at Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong. The hotel is renowned for the five-star personalised services it ofers throughout, and this includes its health and spa treatment facilities.
The Health Club’s area is cosy, but still offers a complete set of options, including five massage treatment rooms, indoor and outdoor jacuzzi, separate sauna and steam rooms for men and women, solarium, and an outdoor swimming pool with a view terrace. Refreshments are also available.
We selected one of the comprehensive Spa Journey services – De-aging & Hydrating Retreat ($2,300 for 2.5 hours), which comprises a 30-minute Age-defying Organic Body Wrap, a 60-minute Aromatherapy Massage, and a 60-minute Hydrating Facial. The body wrap had to be tried as it is not commonly offered in Hong Kong. The therapist scrubs the back with natural salt and sugar, then lathes the body with organic avocado oil before wrapping the body, helping it to absorb the nutrients. The skin feels firmer, fuller and better moistened afterwards. This is followed by the aromatherapy massage and facial. It’s worth noting the exceptionally comfortable treatment table, and the ultra-smooth and soft towels and sheets, all attesting to the spa’s attention to detail.
Whether or not you are staying at the hotel, why not drop by Island Shangri-La’s Health and Spa Centre for a most pampering and relaxing massage and beauty treatment.
