City of Dreams and Altira Macau are partnering with MATRADE Hong Kong to launch Malaysian Gourmet Tour
City of Dreams and Altira Macau, members of Melco Crown Entertainment Limited are offering a variety of Malaysian culinary traditions as a way to promote the rich and diverse variety of Asian flavors for locals and visitors to enjoy.
In collaboration with the Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE Hong Kong), a launch event for the Malaysian Gourmet Tour was held today at City of Dreams’ innovative dining and entertainment district, SOHO, and officiated by Consul General of Malaysia YM Tengku Dato’ Sirajuzzaman, Malaysian Trade Commissioner Madam Zaimah Osman, Senior Vice President of Food and Beverage of Melco Crown Entertainment Kristoffer Luczak and other executives. The event was also joined by representatives from the Institute of Tourism Studies, the Macau University of Science and Technology, the Macau Culinary Association and the Macau chapter of Chaîne des Rôtisseurs.
From now until September 30, Golden Pavilion, R Bar, Wave and Asia Kitchen at City of Dreams, as well as Altira Macau’s Monsoon will feature a selection of ethnic Malaysian cuisine, infused with the flavors of China, India and Portugal, which is not only scarce in Macau and Hong Kong, but has also had a profound influence on the unique gastronomy of Macau – the Macanese cuisine.
The menus not only offer traditional Malaysian dishes from north to south but also the famous Nyonya dishes – meticulously prepared by the Company’s Malaysian chefs. Penang’s Assam laksa and king prawn noodles in soup, Nyonya-style spicy marinated vegetable salad, Hainanese chicken rice as well as “Nasi lemak” (fragrant rice cooked in coconut milk and served with prawns and fried chicken wings) are just some of the flavorful specialties that cannot be missed.
