Dynasty 8

Conrad's flagship restaurant is Dynasty 8, a spacious outlet serving quality Cantonese cuisine. Its name is inspired by China's eight dynasties; their history reflected in its eight private dining rooms styled after each of them. The private rooms and the common area are all impeccably decorated in elegant, classic Chinese décor, with table settings to match.

We tucked into the restaurant's famous dim sum lunch. The dim sum dishes include Steamed Bun Filled with Egg Custard and Corn (48 patacas), Steamed Siu Mai Pork Dumpling with Crab Meat (68 patacas), Crispy Glutinous Dumpling with Salted Lemon and Dried Shrimp (48 patacas), Deep-fried Sesame and Purple Sweet Potato Stuffed with Taro (38 patacas), Deep-fried Taro with Sea Cucumber and Crab Roe (88 patacas), Steamed Squid Ink Rice Roll Filled with Australian Scallops and Shrimp (128 patacas), and Steamed Vegetable Dumpling with Black Truffle (88 patacas).

We also tried the restaurant's signature soup, Double-boiled Soup with Hericium Enrinceus Mushroom and Coconut (128 patacas per person), which is velvety smooth, before rounding off the meal with Poached Wild Rice with Prawn and Crab Meat in Shrimp Stock (388 patacas) and two excellent desserts: Chilled Coconut Pudding with Peach Gum (68 patacas) an aromatic Fresh Durian Pancake (98 patacas).
